Principal's Welcome

A word of welcome...

You are most welcome to the St. Jarlath’s College website. Here, I hope you will find a flavour of our school culture and ethos. Founded in 1800, and located in Tuam, Co. Galway, we are a Voluntary, Catholic, Co-educational secondary school under the Trusteeship of the Archbishop of Tuam. Our mission is to educate, inspire and empower all who join our community.

We strive for high results and have high expectations of all of our students. St. Jarlath’s College provides a progressive academic curriculum. We also place high value on a balanced education and the benefits of being involved in sport and the many extracurricular activities, which we provide in our school.

We are very proud of our high academic record and all our past pupils’ achievements and accomplishments.

St. Jarlath’s College is a warm, welcoming place where positive relationships between staff, students and parents are highly regarded. Our school possesses excellent care structures, which lead to each student being able to grow and develop in a happy and supportive atmosphere.

We have a strict code of behaviour, which allows teachers and students to develop relationships of trust and respect in a learning and caring environment.

This website contains lots of information on different aspects of our school which we hope will be helpful to you in making your decision for your child.

In St. Jarlath’s College we will make every effort to ensure your child reaches his full potential during his time with us.
