St Jarlath's ladies began their championship on Thursday February 1st 2024 with a 6-point win against neighbours Archbishop McHale.

There were excellent performances all over the field and the Jarlath's girls were outstanding in difficult windy weather conditions.

Mia Noone made multiple saves in goal to deny Archbishop Mchale early in the first half as we played into the string wind. Outstanding displays in defence from Siobhan Mannion Mcguinnes and Hannah McDonald kept the opposition scoreless in the 1st half.

The midfielders worked tirelessly and Sarah Brennan covered every blade of grass in Tuam Stars. The second half saw Saoirse O'Connor dominate with the wind at her back she carved through the oppositions defence with her pace and power. Emma Winston proved to be the match winner with an outstanding personal display of scoring (2-01).
