St. Jarlath’s College, Tuam 4-16
St. Mary’s College, Galway 0-3
On Wednesday October 19th, 2011 the Senior Football Team had a comprehensive win over their great rivals, St. Mary’s College, Galway in the Prairie Grounds in Galway. Congrats to all involved.
St. Jarlath’s has a long tradition of excelling in gaelic football. It has the distinction of having the most Hogan Cup (senior All-Ireland College Championship) victories of any college in Ireland at 12. St. Patrick’s College also had an illustrious tradition in Gaelic football, the senior team having won Connaught titles throughout its past, as well as taking part in a long and celebrated rivalry with neighbouring Jarlath’s. All in all, with the amalgamation taken into account, the new college can boast fifty all Connaught titles, making it Ireland’s premier Gaelic football school.
